We have excellent contacts with broadcasters (and online channels) in the UK and internationally and a major part of our business consists of generating programme ideas, securing commissions, managing productions and navigating rights sales. Few communications companies have capability or experience.
For example, the 2011 season of the BBC's flagship engineering series, "How to Build...", featured Mettle clients exclusively - Airbus, McLaren and Astrium. The series has been repeated every year since.
We worked with Glasshead Productions to formulate, pitch and produce a series of Bloodhound education films for BBC Learning, which you can see here. We are now working with international broadcasters to develop a slate of long-form and live programming for 2016 -17.
Mettle is Executive Producer for all BLOODHOUND Project web and TV output. When the car runs in the South African desert in 2015 - 16, we will be leading a team of 200+, running over 50 cameras and overseeing production of TV and theatrical output. This will include 8+ hours of long-form documentary, a live two hour broadcast, rapid turn-around event special and a host of web-films. We will also be showing live online updates from the desert every day.
